Eligibility Rules

To be eligible for trophies and VGL Medals members must be financial prior to the close of entries for the first round. They also must have been a Club Member for 12 months prior to the commencement of the competition OR be a financial Club Member and have a minimum of 10 live cards recorded on Golflink, played at Camberwell, prior to the close of entries. An additional requirement for the Club Championship is that members must have played in at least 12 Camberwell competitions in the preceding 12 months.

Club Championships

Stroke event for each grade, aggregate score over 4 rounds during October.

Competition played in conjunction with normal daily competition. Gross and Nett – Handicap of the day applies.

Gross for grade – Name on Honour Board plus Individual Trophy Nett for grade – Individual Trophy only.

Note: Your daily handicap on the day of the first round sets your grade (A, B or C) for the Championship.

The club champion is the player with the lowest Gross score over the 4 rounds. Name on the Honour Board. NB. Gross event winners are not eligible to win nett events.

Seniors Championship for those 60 years of age and over is to be played over 4 rounds of Stroke. Handicap of the day applies. Played in conjunction with Club Championships.

Gross – Name on Honour Board and Individual Trophy. Nett – Individual Trophy only.

Veterans Championship (65 and over) is a Thursday competition played over 4 rounds each fortnight commencing 13th May. Handicap of the day applies. Competition is Stableford.

Pairs Championship

Stroke Aggregate Nett score over 2 rounds – with handicaps locked from first round. Committee adjusts result back to handicap of day 1 for this competition result only.

PRIOR to commencement of the first round, pairs are to be entered on the official pairs entry list and an entry form, signed by both players, is to be lodged in a separate envelope to the daily competition. Entry fee is covered by the entry to the daily competition.

Players will submit individual cards. Partners are not to mark each others’ cards. Eligibility rules apply.

Matchplay Championships

Entry Sheet will be placed on Notice Board early April for interested members to enter their name, handicap and contact phone number. Entry form, with $5.50 fee, to be lodged prior to the matchplay closing date.

Field is limited to 32. Draw seeded by handicap, anyone not paid on or by the closing date will be excluded from the competition. It is the responsibility of the low handicap player to contact his opponent to arrange playing of the match.

NB. Matchplay players may only participate in one event each day. The Camberwell Golf Club daily Stroke index applies.

Any problem in having the match completed before each round deadline must be reported to the Match Committee immediately. Failure to do so could see both players disqualified.

Matches tied after 18 holes will be decided by sudden death play-off

commencing at hole No.1, or as instructed by the Pro Shop if the first tee is not available. Handicap differential re-commences.

SUMMER CUP (Played over 2 Saturdays in February.)

WINTER CUP (Played over 2 Thursdays in August.)

Stableford Aggregate – 36 holes over 2 designated rounds. Entry is via the daily competition sheet. Handicap of the day applies to both rounds.

Play-Offs

In the case of a drawn result, the following two events will be decided in an 18- hole play off which must be played within 14 days of the drawn result.

Club Championships – Pairs Championships

Any variation to this can only be made by the Match Committee.

A draw in all other events will be decided by official VGL count-back systems, unless noted otherwise.

Victorian Golf League - Monthly Medal

The Monthly Medal is played as a Nett Stroke event, usually on the first Saturday of each month March through to October. It is played in conjunction with a normal club stroke event.

Golf Link handicap to qualify for the medal is limited to a maximum handicap of 27 on the day.

The medal winners then play for Medallist of Medallist (usually the 4th Saturday in October). The winner of this competition must be available to play in the VGL Medallist of Medallist in December at a course to be advised.

The decision of the Match Committee in relation to ALL Club Competitions and associated events will be final.
